# Privacy and deletion

> Exporting saved work, requesting deletion, and backup expiry.

You can export supported saved Artifacts from their saved versions. Exporting
does not publish the Artifact or change who can access it.

You can request deletion of a whole Artifact, including its saved history,
associated media and stored files. At launch, Poneva handles this request with
an operator-assisted procedure and verifies removal from active storage,
including every stored version of the selected files. Artifact and App content
is deleted only when requested; older file versions do not expire automatically.

For customer data from launch onward, backups containing deleted content expire
**at most 35 days after deletion from active storage**. This commitment takes
effect at launch once the backup-retention update is applied. Pre-launch recovery
snapshots are retained and are outside this policy's scope.

The 35-day window applies to copies in the backup bucket. All versions of the
requested content are permanently removed from active object storage during
deletion. Copying a backup does not extend the deadline. If a backup is restored
during that period, the deletion request is reapplied before the restored
content becomes accessible.

Minimal records needed to account for usage and record the deletion request
remain separate from the deleted content. Deleting an Artifact does not delete
data held by an external service you connected to Poneva.
